As of now we are going to think about what we are going to do with this blog.
So there might not be any posts for awhile — I’m not sure. We’ll keep y’all updated as we make decisions. (:

to a different blogging platform.
We want to be able to customize our blog more, broaden our horizons, and also include sections for things like Itzel’s art work (and other crafts she makes like soaps — they’re incredible!) and my writing.
Do y’all have any suggestions?

I have a book about Taoism and joy, and this was one of the teachings I read about today. It’s so true though — a friend and I got into an argument (okay, well it was more like she attacked me over something I have no control over, my illness) and instead of responding with more anger, I was really calm and polite.
Although the way she treated me was appalling, uncalled for, and horribly wrong, I felt so good responding to her the way I did. I even wished her happiness, which trust me in that moment, she didn’t deserve.
I think it’s important that we remember this principle — we can’t fight fire with fire.

I admire any artist who uses their talent to stick it to the man.
I am so sorry that we haven’t been posting as much as we would like. Itzel and I have both been really busy and it’s been difficult for us to get together and make time to create posts for the blog.

Don’t Deny Transplant Because of Medical Marijuana Use!
Toni Trujillo was removed from the organ transplant list due to legal medical marijuana use.
She came to California to get special treatment at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for a rare disease that makes her kidneys inflamed. Her first transplant was in 1991, and she’s been on dialysis awaiting her second transplant since 2007.
Even though medical marijuana was recommended to her by a doctor, the hospital is forcing her to go through a six month program that includes random drug tests and weekly substance abuse counseling before they’ll put her back on the list — and it’ll be at the very bottom.
Please tell Cedars-Sinai Medical Center that Trujillo should immediately be reinstated on the transplant list and to change their policy about medical marijuana use.

But I bet if she was on morphine, it wouldn’t have been an issue, even though it’s HIGHLY ADDICTIVE and WORSE for your body. Hmpf. Ignorance makes me sick.
Yeah, they wanted her to be put on prescription pills too. I’d argue that people abuse that WAY MORE than they abuse marijuana.

I don’t care if this sounds cliche — love. Love for the Earth, for family, friends, for those that we are in love with, for all human beings, for animals, for all the creatures on this planet. Just love.
